Born to a fantastic pair of Homo Sapiens in the 20th century, I had the privilege of having exceptional people to learn from. My dad taught me to always focus on the basics. My mum taught me the importance of slow, consistent progress. My dad always asked me to overdeliver – do more than what has been asked from you.
These attributes shaped my early childhood and made a solid foundation for things to come. Another thing that my father introduced me to, at an early age was computers. I started creating random things using Lotus 1-2-3 and Fortran. Little did I know that all of them were early signs of my lifelong romance with Technology. And the love story was just starting.
I went on to do Engg. in Information Technology because I was fascinated by the power of the Internet. I later joined a Software services firm like most graduates in India do. But I was genuinely curious about the possibilities that Technology brings.
My nature to experiment soon made me resign and try Blogging. I started blogging regularly and became one of the popular blogs in Navi Mumbai. Soon, I started getting requests to covers events, write book reviews and do other stuff. But I was too naive to clueless to know how to make it a profitable full-time profession. I joined back the Corporate rat race but kept blogging. This was back in 2009.
A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then. I lived in the US for a while and learnt a bunch of new things. I came back and did my MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. And that gave me the courage to finally give up the rat race and start on my own. This blog is one of the by-products of that chemical reaction.
I came across and realised the power of Digital Marketing when I started exploring entrepreneurship possibilities. I got as fascinated by it as that small 8-9 yr old kid playing with Lotus 1-2-3.
This blog is basically an output of all my learnings as I explore Digital Marketing in depth. I am fascinated by WordPress and SEO a lot, so you would see a bias in my writings towards that. I am also excited to be a part of this startup world. So, don’t be surprised if you find a lot of posts on that as well.
I am still forming my decision on where to take this blog. But irrespective of that, if you have any interest in Digital Marketing, SEO or Entrepreneurship – you might like this blog.
Before you start calling me a narcissist, I’ll stop after I tell you how I was promoted to write this “About me” page. As I went on my journey of Digital Marketing, I enrolled for this brilliant internship program by a guy called Sanjay Shenoy. He is an SEO expert and gives weekly assignments for his interns to complete. This “About me” page is a result of one of those assignments on Technical SEO. A fascinating topic, I tell you.
